In the past year, an oral cancer screening program, a telemedicine program, a telepsychiatry program have been launched within the framework of the international program, and a digital device rental service also helps homeless people. The health programs are accompanied by research so that we can continue to effectively help people in need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Early Detection Saves Lives: Oral Cancer Screening Program<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Almost 200 people have participated in the oral cancer screening program so far, which is implemented jointly by the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service and Semmelweis University. The incidence of head and neck cancers is exceptionally high in our country, which is predisposed to by poor oral hygiene, smoking and alcohol consumption, and patients often seek medical attention too late, when the tumor has already grown to the point that it prevents eating. This unconventional service was launched almost a year ago, and has now become an integral part of the institutions of the Maltese Charity Service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\">Bridging Social and Healthcare Systems<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>The success of homeless care will be greatly increased if we bring the social and healthcare systems closer together, and if professionals from the two fields can work directly together for the benefit of each patient,<\/em>\u201d said Dr. S\u00e1ndor B\u00e9k\u00e1si, professional manager of the Health Center of the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service and the SOLACE-CEE program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The SOLACE-CEE program was launched a year ago, which helps homeless people with complex innovative health services.
