In October last year, the team from the Housing First Poland Foundation (FNMP) decided to take part in the 15th Masovia Development Forum – European Funds Forum, a national event that provided an opportunity to build new partnerships and present the foundation’s work in supporting people experiencing homelessness to the wider audience.

The event attracted considerable media attention and offered a platform for discussion and exchange. FNMP organized a public debate featuring a psychologist, a social worker, a researcher, and two experts by experience. The discussion explored fundamental questions about homelessness: How does homelessness end? Each speaker bring her own perspective on homelessness, wchich led us to see this phenomenon through layers of different experiences and needs.

As part of its participation in the event, the foundation also prepared a film that presents the assumptions of the work in the Ambivalence programme, its beginnings and the challenges of working in the spirit of integrated social and medical services.

The foundation also presented Solace-CEE work
The quote comes from the magaizine “European Funds in Mazovia”

“We are currently implementing a project in an international partnership with organizations from Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Romania. As the SOLACE-CEE partnership, we have received funding from the European Social Fund Plus through a call announced by the European Commission. There are only four such partnerships in Europe, and we are the only organization from Poland. This is a source of pride for us. We have secured funding for three years to refine ways of supporting people according to Housing First values and to learn from the experience of other countries. In this particular project, our goal is better integration of housing and social services with healthcare services. This will allow our participants, who often face serious mental and physical health challenges, to receive comprehensive support across all areas of their needs.” – Julia Wygnańska, FNMP
