The cold winter days are a critical time of the year for homeless people. In the general perception, thоse are all who live on the streets, sleep in subways, at the train station or in abandoned, dilapidated and dangerous buildings. But there are also other types of homelessness.

According to ETHOS – European Typology of Homelessness and Housing Exclusion, homeless people are not only those who are without a roof or housing, but also those who live in insecure or inadequate housing.
- People living in insecure housing are people living in precarious and non-permanent housing, living in housing under threat of eviction or people living in housing under threat of violence.
- People living in inadequate housing are individuals living in temporary and unconventional structures (mobile homes, makeshift shelters, huts or shelters, semi-permanent facilities), as well as those living in inadequate or overcrowded housing.
These are the two categories of people that we are working with in the frames of the #SOLACE-CEE project in the capital’s “Fakulteta” neighbourhood. Because a “house” made of plywood with a canvas “roof” and without windows does not mean good living conditions, much less can it be called a home.
